TVO - Financial Literacy

TVO’s new K-12 financial literacy course empowers students with the skills and confidence to make smart money decisions in their everyday lives. Through interactive lessons, real-world scenarios, and practical tools, learners will build a strong foundation in budgeting, saving, spending, and financial responsibility.

Here are a few short points outlining what might be expected of a learner in a TVO K-12 financial literacy course:

  • Apply concepts of budgeting, saving, and spending to real-life scenarios.

  • Track and reflect on personal financial decisions using age-appropriate tools or journals.

  • Demonstrate understanding of needs vs. wants when making choices.

  • Collaborate with peers on group activities, such as planning a mock event budget.

  • Complete short assessments (quizzes, projects, or presentations) to show financial literacy growth.
