Leadership Part 1

Leadership AQ Part 1 introduces educators to the foundational principles and practices of leadership in educational settings. The course explores leadership theories, collaborative practices, and strategies that support positive school cultures and student success.

Participants explore how leadership can be demonstrated both formally and informally within classrooms, schools, and professional learning communities. Through reflection and inquiry-based learning, educators begin developing their leadership identity while supporting equity, inclusion, and student well-being.

This course encourages educators to consider how leadership practices can support continuous improvement, strengthen relationships among staff and students, and contribute to meaningful change within their school communities.

To enroll in Leadership AQ Part 1, candidates must:

  • Hold a Certificate of Qualification and Registration with the Ontario College of Teachers in good standing
  • Have completed a recognized teacher education program
  • Be interested in developing leadership capacity within educational settings

  • Foundations of educational leadership
  • Leadership identity and reflective practice
  • Collaborative leadership and team building
  • Creating inclusive and supportive learning environments
  • Communication and relationship-building within school communities
